Upon completing a four-decade journey, Fremax celebrates a cycle of structured growth, international expansion, and robust investment in technology, innovation, and sustainability. As part of the celebrations, the book ‘40 Moments that made the world stop in awe’ will be distributed to stakeholders in all countries where Frasle Mobility operates. The content, produced especially for the occasion, leads the reader through the world's greatest events, broken down by decade, as well as revisits the most notable achievements throughout its 40-year history.
Since its incorporation into Frasle Mobility, Fremax, which has a 30,000 square meter manufacturing plant in Joinville (SC), has undergone relevant acceleration, with a significant expansion of its workforce – from 400 to 830 people - and substantial growth. During this period, the company`s revenue has tripled.
With proprietary technology in tool development and manufacturing, and with warehouses spread around the world, Fremax has built a highly recognized capacity to expand its portfolio, providing fleet coverage in every country it operates. Staying focused on the national market, the brand covers 99% of Brazil`s circulating fleet a key differentiator in the replacement parts industry.
This focus on development has been part of Fremax from the start. Even before gaining widespread recognition in Brazil, it was exporting brake discs, which reinforced a lasting culture of portfolio expansion and improvement. Over 40 years, it is estimated that around 100 million brake discs have been produced, consolidating the brand as a benchmark in scale and reliability.
“This 40-year journey represents a history shaped by a focus on processes, constant quality improvement, and especially a concern for people. Fremax has experienced different cycles, always with a clear long-term vision and a commitment to excellence,” says the director of the Fremax unit, Julio Cesar da Silva.
A recent milestone of this evolution is the launch of the Maxcoating line, which delivers over 1,000 hours of anti-corrosion protection, proven in salt spray tests. The solution uses 100% water-based products and a production process with reduced environmental impact, in line with sustainability directives and the new automotive industry demands.
Proven excellence in supplying to automakers.
Serving automakers in Brazil, Fremax has already manufactured over 5 million parts for the original equipment market with no quality-related returns, a practice known in the market as Zero PPM.
The products`high performance is cited as Fremax's main differentiator. This recognition is backed by technological attributes and practical market validation, particularly from mechanics, the brand's key audience. This positioning is bolstered by the endorsement of Porsche Cup Brazil, a category where Fremax has been an official supplier for 18 years, an area of extreme demands in performance and safety.
Prospects for the future involves ESG
Aware of automotive sector`s transformations, the company keeps a close eye on technological, regulatory, and market trends, while fostering strong relationships with clients, automakers, and strategic partners. Investments in innovation, engineering, and continuous process improvement are part of the business strategy. This move seeks to anticipate structural market changes, such as fleet electrification, increasing environmental requirements, industry digitalization, and evolving global quality standards.
According to Frasle Mobility CEO Anderson Pontalti, the unit's path is closely tied to the group's strategy. "Fremax exemplifies how innovation, proprietary engineering, and operational discipline create strong global brands. The company's growth is aligned with Frasle Mobility's vision of developing high value-added solutions with environmental responsibility and a focus on the future of mobility," he states.
Today, Fremax is acknowledged as a premium brand in Brazil and in more than 65 countries where it operates. This expansion is tied to ESG commitments, featuring responsible practices across the value chain, including environmental impacts initiatives like RECYCLE MAX, a reverse logistics program that works directly with registered workshops now accounting for 14% of the company`s total war material usage.
A bit of History
The beginning of the growth path demanded, as its first major challenge, stabilizing and controlling production processes. From this foundation, Fremax took its first steps in exporting, initially supplying unbranded brake discs and drums to the English market. Meanwhile, the company structured the consolidation of its brand in the Brazilian market, starting with regional distributors and progressing to major national distributors.
